Best Time to Visit Tso Moriri Lake in Leh

This lake is frozen and covered with snow in the months of January to March. So you will not get a proper view of this lake in these months. In April, the snow starts melting and the beautiful blue colour of this lake is witnessed. It seems that as if the blue sheet was covered by a white sheet of snow. The main tourist season of this place starts from early May and continues till the end of August. During these months you can get the most beautiful views of this lake.

How to Reach Tso Moriri Lake

You will need a permit from Ladakh Administration in order to visit this lake. You cannot take a public transport to this lake for this reason. You will need your valid copies of passport in order to visit this place. The permit remains valid for seven days. This lake is at a distance of 240 km from the main city. You can reach this lake directly Pangong Lake via the road.

The road conditions are good and hence it is considered to be the most beautiful journey of the entire Ladakh region. The road distance between Pangong Lake and Tso Moriri Lake is 235 km. There are no petrol pumps in the road and so it is highly advisable for you to carry enough fuel. You will get cabs from Leh Airport and Jammu Railway Station to reach Leh and from Leh you can take this road trip.
